Shaffer Family Christmas

Christmas celebrations continued when we arrived home from Dallas. We were fortunate to have the McQuinn Family stay with us for several days and although we were exhausted and not the best hosts, we really enjoyed their visit. The Shaffer Family celebration was extra special this year, because we had the entire family in Indy, including Scott in his family that traveled all the way from England. The cousins are all getting bigger and Andrew loved watching them play. Grandma Shaffer had plenty of good food and a homemade apple pie (David's favorite)! Madison read the Christmas Story from Luke and then we had fun exchanging gifts between the families. The adults had a white elepahant gift exchange - which is always fun!

A White Christmas in Texas

We decided to drive through the night on our 12 hour trip to Dallas. By 4am we were both getting pretty tired and were switching between the drivers seat every half hour it seemed. Thankfully we made it alive and decided that leaving a little earlier in the evening would be a better idea. We had a wonderful visit with the Miller Family and enjoyed good cooking from Mom and Mema. Andrew woke up every morning saying Liza, Eliza... He loved having his cousin there to play everyday! We enjoyed relaxing and spending time together the whole week before Christmas. We took the tram to visit the Dallas Aquarium one day, which everyone loved. We went on some wonderful walks - the weather went from warm and sunny to cold and snowy while we were there. We went to the Christmas Eve service which was nice, but it was a cold and snowy Christmas Eve in Dallas. We had a white Christmas morning (only the 3rd ever in Dallas) and by afternoon a sunny day warm enough for a walk. Christmas morning was special and it was fun to watch Andrew and Eliza play with their new toys.
