Happy Halloween

Halloween is not my most favorite holiday, but it is fun to dress up and eat candy one day of the year!  This year I found these outfits in the basement just hours before trick or treating started, not the perfect fit, but we made it work!  I made some paper leaves for Isaiah's shoes and found some snow boots (a few sizes too small) for Andrew!  We made our way around the court and got enough candy to last us until Christmas!

The boys especially liked handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters that came to our house.

Isaiah had his first m&m today (not bad for 17 months) - needless to say, he really liked it!

Visit to Aunt Kathy's House

We had a relaxing drive to Aunt Kathy's house this afternoon, the boys slept and the leaves were beautiful.  We stopped and took Aunt Kellin out to the Outback for dinner, to celebrate her acceptance to study abroad in Australia next semester.

The boys enjoyed throwing rocks from the driveway into the pond - Aunt Kat may need some more gravel after our visits!  As always we enjoyed a special visit with Aunt kat, Nikki, Travis and got to meet Dan.

Andrew remembered golfing and playing football at Aunt Kat's house (over a year ago) and enjoyed playing outside.  Isaiah had some fun daddy time too!

Thanks Aunt Kat for a special visit!  We love you!

Leaves are Changing

As quickly as the leaves change and fall, my babies grow...

so I will do my best to enjoy every day - with minimal sleep and no me time - I will choose to enjoy EVERY day, for these days will soon be gone and I am going to miss them!

Days on the Deck

We still haven't gotten around to getting our deck furniture... and may not for a while, because we are loving the deck without it!!  The boys have lots of room to ride and run - especially on the days when the grass is wet!

These were so cute I just couldn't decide on a favorite!  I did narrow the selection, if you can believe it!

Andrew Bruce, stopping just long enough for a picture!

Weekend at the Byrum Farm

We had our first family sleep over at the Byrum Farm this weekend.  We always enjoy the Byrum hospitality, sweet children and farm full of animals.  Andrew and Isaiah absolutely love all the animals and it is so fun to watch them interact with the dogs, cats, chickens, horses and goat!

The Byrums recently got two new horses, Valentine (seen here with Emma) and Comet (with Andrew in the picture below).  I had the opportunity to ride both of them (although they much prefer the lighter, child rider!).  I am sad to say that it has been just about one year since I rode a horse, but it always feels like it was yesterday when horses were a huge part of my every day.  Life has its seasons and one day I hope that our backyard is full of God's amazing creatures too!  For now I have my hands full being a Mommy!

 Playing in the leaves

Andrew and Isaiah have so much fun with the Byrum cousins - Ethan, Emma, Eliza and Ella

Isaiah going on day number two with no nap - they both slept the entire way home!

Finishing out the day with a favorite snack!

Ethan was out in the field with his Dad this afternoon.  David and Andrew had the chance to ride in the combine the night before.  Andrew enjoyed spending some time with Grandpa Byrum, especially because the combine had a candy drawer!  He has had a lot to say about the combine, unloading corn on the go, his ride in the semi truck with Uncle Steve and the exact process of how corn gets from the field to our table since this visit!  The Byrum kids found Uncle Davids old toy tractor and combine for us to take home, which was icing on the cake for Andrew and Isaiah.  Thanks for the wonderful memories Byrum Family, the only family I know who grills pork burgers for a "small" breakfast, you guys are the best!

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to a smaller pumpkin patch this year, paid much less, but had just as much fun!
I thought it was funny that the boys are in the exact same position... even their foot placement is the same!  Must be brothers!

Grandma Shaffer got Andrew a home-made shirt for the festive occasion!

Andrews with his glasses, turtle neck and pacing with hands behind his back reminds me of a college professor, not a 3 year old!  Love that boy!
We got a little muddy, but found four perfect pumpkins for fall!
