When the weather outside is frightful, load up the car, drive North and go swimming! We actually had a nice drive both ways to the Dells. It was super cold outside, but beautiful and sunny from the warm heated seats of the Odyseey! We chose to go in the off season for the good rates and low crowds - we were literally one of only three families staying at the hotel! We had the pool to ourselves, it was quite nice! Andrews favorite thing was water basketball, which was no suprise, so he and daddy spent lots of time shooting hoops!

The Boy's
Andrew found a slide that was just his size and LOVED it!After the first morning of swimming we were all ready for a good nap. We had a huge room with two queen beds and a king. We stacked pillows around Andrew, I nestled into bed next to Isaiah and Daddy rested on the big bed - we were all asleep within minutes. About an hour into our nap we woke abruptly to a loud thud - Andrew had rolled (climbed over the pillows in his sleep) off his bed and was face down on the floor. He was quickly consoled and back to sleep, but after about 15 minutes I couldn't help myself - I woke him up, did a complete neurological exam (as I would on a dog, of course) and hoped that we wouldn't need to visit the ER tonight. I asked him what his name was and he said "Gus", then I asked him what Daddy's name was and he said "Papa", who was I "Grandma" - yep he was going to be fine!
We found a spot for dinner that had a big train room - we knew Andrew would love it! When we arrived there may have been 3 cars in the parking lot, but the hostess was quick to say the train room was full when we inquired about it. She took us to a quiet table (the place was empty) and we got settled in. By the time the food came Andrew was climbing under the table, Isaiah knocked over his blueberry and pear dinner and our dinners were getting cold - we were miserable. I got my food down Mommy speed (super fast) and decided to take the boys to the train room, while Daddy "finished" eating. The room had a few occupied tables - happy toddlers with train hats, blowing bubbles and watching Thomas on the big screen as Elmo rode around on a train that brought food to each table. I was pretty unhappy with the not-so-friendly hostess at this point, but smiled and watched the train do a few laps.

We had passes to another indoor waterpark, so the next morning we woke up, got ready and drove a few miles down the road to check it out - unfortunately when we called the front desk to get directions and ask if we needed to bring towles, they failed to mention that it didn't open until 10:30am - we feared it was going to be another one of "thoes" days... Andrew watched a movie in the car as we waited a half hour for the doors to open and thankfully when they did it was AWESOME! Not only did it have a wonderful toddler pool with slides, it had some big slides that Daddy got to try out!

Andrew liked to splash everyone, so the camera got put away pretty fast!It was a little difficult to travel between waterparks when it was 10 below outside, but we made it work and really had a good time. I built a 8 pillow wall on Andrew's bed and we all took a nice nap. We came back to this waterpark in the evening, had pizza poolside for dinner and made it back to see Purdue beat IU - a good day indeed!
