The Sound of Music tour ended at the heart of Salzburg, so we decided to stay and tour the city the rest of the afternoon. We went to a small cafe and ordered ham and cheese crossants off the German menu. It was a charming city right on the river, but it was by no means small and we did a ton of walking! Andrew became proficient at nursing and napping in the Ergo sling, so we only had to make quick stops for the occasional diaper change. He was an amazing traveler and didn't slow us down a bit.
We saw the Salzburg Cathedral (Salzburger Dom), a 17th century cathedral where Mozart was baptized.
Hohensalzburg Castle (Festung Hohensalzburg ,literally "High Salzburg Fortress" in German) one of the largest medieval castles in Europe.

Did some window shopping on one of the oldest streets in Salzburg, the Getreidegasse. Taking in the wrought-iron guild signs hanging above the shops.
We had big plans to have a romantic dinner in Salzburg, but by 6:00 we were all exhausted and decided to take the bus back to the Bloberger Hof for dinner. Andrew posed for one more picture and then went straight to bed. David and I spent some time on the balcony enjoying the amazing mountains.
