Suzanne did give us a map with directions on how to hop between castles driving right through the mountains. The drive was breath taking... very small, curvy roads, but absolutely beautiful! We had to stop to get some pictures!
Linderhof is where King Ludwig II spent most of his time, which was not that long since he was found mysteriously drowned in a lake only a year after this castle was built. The inside was again very ornate, built for a king. Again Ludwig was an extreme introvert and never allowed anyone into his castles. He even had a table that rose from the floor, so that his food could be served to him without people in the room - yes, he had some major issues. We also visited his man-made cave complete with lights and a pool.
It was getting late and we still had several stops to make before making the 3 hour drive to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Andrew was settled in for his afternoon nap and we were on our way to Wieskirche Cathedral.
